TUMMY TO TOTS

I absolutely love my “Tummy To Tots” package since I get the opportunity to watch these incredible babies grow before my eyes.  Whether you come in for a maternity session to begin your package or when your baby is a newborn each step of the way is a treasure.

Buoncristiani Photography is a boutique studio located in Marin County and based in a home studio.  There are so many benefits to having a home studio especially for the Tummy to Tots package.  New parents are often a little nervous for their first sessions and in a home studio there is an area to relax, feed your little one, and clean up when need be all in the comforts of home.

To talk about a Mommy's point of view on her newborn sessions is one of my wonderful moms who answered a few questions about newborn sessions….

What was the first thing you thought when you saw your baby for the first time?

I'M A MOM! HE IS SLIMY! HE IS SLIMY AND ADORABLE! I LOVE MY SLIMY BABY! 

Have we done a session before? If not, skip ahead. If so, tell me roughly how long ago our last session was and something you remember from our shoot.

Yes! The session was maybe about 2 months ago. I remember you being extremely clever and creative in the photo shoot asking me to bring heels and capturing Kai in between my legs! So fun!

What was your favorite part about our sessions together?

The sessions are calm, fun, and creative! I love that Danielle takes the time to listen to our needs and really focuses on capturing our vision while introducing new ideas to us and incorporating that within the sessions.  I also love that she tries to make a connection with our son Kai to also make him comfortable with her…and boy does he love her and her camera!

How did you prepare the baby for our photo shoots?

Bath time! ;)    Danielle is great with communicating ideas for the photo shoot and asks to bring a few props to get things rolling. Once the photo shoot starts new ideas pop up! I love it!

How was your experience having your newborn photographed? Were you nervous or worried before? How did it turn out?

They came out breath taking! Danielle knows what it takes to accommodate to a newborn and their needs. At first when I called inquiring info in regards to the shoot I was nervous because I was worried if Kai would be comfortable or if she would get impatient because Kai is not in a mood to be photographed or needed to take a break to nurse and let’s not forget every dads nightmare… being peed on (HA! Mommy’s nightmare too but we get used to it) but she made it very clear that this would be a smooth photo shoot. She gave great suggestions to a first time mommy (ME!) to bring him after a nap time or during his nap time to get those cute little nap shots. I have the best memories through her work and I absolutely am in LOVE! …..and yes…I got peed on J

When you came back for your second session how was your experience?

It was relaxing. I didn’t feel like I was going to a stranger’s home I felt like I was going over a friend’s house. IT was FUN and not just something that needed to be done.

What would be your advice to someone getting newborn photographs taken?

Have fun with it! Enjoy the moment…the moments that you least expect are the best moments that are being captured through Danielle and her work

What kinds of things did you worry about before and during the session?

To be honest none…I was very comfortable with Danielle.  

There are two more sessions with your little boy is there anything in particular you would like to show or have during our session?

More fun and creative shots. I love unique ideas….like the session we did with my high heels and Kai…absolutely love love love!

Would you be interested in doing the one year cake session?  I will have a mini cake ready for your little one to celebrate his day?

What would you tell future parents about the Tummy to Tots Portrait Sessions?

This is the most important session to capture with your little one. It’s also the best session to capture with your little one. You will have no regrets!
