Get Mom into the “Picture”

Why are Moms hardly ever in the picture... because they are always behind the camera!”

Don't wait until everything is perfect…take your Family Picture Today!

Often I talk with Moms who tell me that there are hardly any pictures of them with their kids…  Some of the reasons this happens;

1.     Moms tends to be the one taking the pictures

2.     Moms are often more critical of themselves and don’t feel that they look good in photos; let me lose 10 more lbs., not the right outfit, or bad hair day.

3.     Moms are often the ones putting on the event and they don’t have the time to be in the photos

When your kids look back at snapshots of their childhood they will want to see how the entire family looked when they were little. Grown kids will see the tenderness in their Mom’s eyes not the outfit that she is wearing.  The importance of being in the “picture” of your kids’ lives will be even more significant when they are grown.  Even if it is not a professional photograph but just a snapshot…it is important that your kids see you with them as they grow.  Let it be that you ask a passing stranger, or that you put your camera on “timer”, make sure you’re in the picture! Our kids grow way too fast. Take a moment to capture the family as you are right now.

Tips for Taking Your Own Family Photo

A few hints to make taking that family snapshot a little easier.

·        Set up a family photo in nice open shade area so that no one is squinting from bright light and you avoid the dark shadows under the eyes.

·         Try not to lean into the picture when you are using a timer, take a moment to casually put your arm around someone or even put your kid on your lap, then the snapshot won’t look like you just jumped into the shot.

·        If it is bright in the background use your flash to fill in the light for your faces.

·        Always take 3-5 shots of the same set up so if someone blinks or has an odd smile you have more to choose from.

Snapshots are fantastic way to chronicle the day to day, but when you are ready for the professional portraits that you hang with pride in your home, that capture you looking your best and show the connection of your family please give me a call.
