It’s officially spooky season and you know what that means. Pumpkin spice lattes and Gilmore Girls reruns. One thing that I struggle with every year is what to be for Halloween. I am not into spending a ton of money on costumes, especially since I am on a college budget so here are four fun ideas for a Halloween costume that you can create using things in your closet.

  1. Johnny and Moira Rose - if you have ever seen Schitt's creek you know these characters and their styles. Johnny would only require a suit and some fake bushy eyebrows. Moira on the other hand is a more extravagant character and may require a trip to your local thrift store. Costume jewelry will be your best friend and plenty of over the top accessories.

  1. Ghost - have a white sheet you're willing to ruin. No one said Halloween costumes had to be extravagant. Cut two holes in the sheet and throw it over your head. Add a pair of sunglasses and you're done. Easy peasy lemon squeezy while staying on trend (yes, ghosts are trendy, it’s all over tik tok)
  1. Luke Danes - Gilmore Girls is an iconic TV show that gives off fall vibes. Luke Danes is an easy costume to replicate. Grab a flannel shirt, a pair of jeans, throw on a backwards ball cap (extra points if it’s blue) and grab an empty coffee pot. I did this costume last year and filled my coffee pot with candy. If you want to be a little more obvious amazon has some cheap Gilmore Girls t-shirts, throw it on under the flannel and you’re done!
  1.  Jordan Belfort and Naomi Lapaglia (Leonardo Dicaprio and Margot Robbie) - A costume that looks like it is going to be quite popular this year is from the movie Wolf of Wallstreet. All you’ll need for Belfort would be a white polo shirt and khaki pants. For Lapaglia a bodycon pink or blue dress. You're done! If you want to throw a third person into the group add on Jonna Hill’s character.
